MEET THE ARTIST
Torvi Fjelddahl was born in Kalmar, a small town on the east coast of southern Sweden. While her mother painted, Torvi herself only took to the arts a little later in life, finding her own pleasures in painting on canvas and crafting clay sculptures.
Torvi's style has a distinctive Nordic touch, especially when it comes to her approach to colours – clearly seen from her joyful reds, vivid pinks and honest blues – as well as her choice of subject matters, often rooted in scenes you might find in a typical Swedish village or small town where a cast of characters go about living their daily lives.
Torvi has made France her adopted home since the early 1970s, and now lives in a house with her atelier set in a big garden in Orgeval on the west side of Paris.
